Examination Details

The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 is conducted to check whether candidates are eligible for teaching posts in government and government-aided schools in Jharkhand.

There are two papers in the examination.

  • Paper I is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5.
  • Paper II is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8.
  • Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1 to 8 can appear for both papers.

The examination is expected to be conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode unless the official notification mentions any change.

Each paper generally includes questions from subjects such as:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language I
  • Language II
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies (Paper I)
  • Mathematics & Science or Social Studies (Paper II, based on the teaching subject)

The questions are objective type (multiple choice). Candidates should prepare according to the official syllabus and exam pattern released by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).

After the examination, the authority will release the answer key, followed by the result and eligibility certificate for qualified candidates.

Salary Details

Passing the Jharkhand TET 2026 does not guarantee a government job or direct salary. It only makes a candidate eligible to apply for teacher recruitment in Jharkhand whenever vacancies are announced.

Once selected as a teacher through the recruitment process, the salary depends on:

  • Post and teaching level
  • Pay rules of the Jharkhand Government
  • Allowances such as DA, HRA, and other admissible benefits

Government teachers in Jharkhand generally receive a good monthly salary along with job security, annual increments, leave benefits, pension-related benefits (as per applicable rules), and other government allowances.
